Main Campus, 16 May 2024 - The Tekun Desasiswa Representative Council (MPDT) held a program called "Of Faith and Love: Empowering SDG" phase 1 which took place at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Kedah Darul Aman on 15 May 2024 to 16 May 2024. A total of 28 students followed the program.

According to the Bendahari of Graphic Media and Publicity MPDT, Muhammad Adam Shadiqin Khairi Azhar, Communication 2, Of Faith & Love (OFAL): Empowering Sustainable Development Goals in general is to create collaborative efforts with other IPTAs. In this regard, UUM to empower and foster SDG in each university dormitory management, which is between USM (Majlis Penghulu Desasiswa Tekun 23/24) and UUM (Residen Siswa Inasis Proton 23/24)

"We achieved success in establishing a bond and relationship with Inasis Proton (one of the UUM dormitories). This collaboration will not only increase the possibility of future collaboration between MPDT and Inasis Proton but also USM and UUM. We also achieved success in learning how UUM's facilities work (benchmarks to make USM better) on how Inasis Proton operates their dormitories and makes their programs,” said Adam.

OFAL's objective is to encourage and further implement SDG efforts in the management of each university's hostel. In addition, gain and share dormitory management knowledge from each university. In addition, establishing relationships and relationships with other IPTAs in this case UUM in Sintok, Kedah.

Adam said the 2-day program was short but packed with activities and university visits. Being located far from the city, UUM has everything from a Korean convenience store (CU Mart) to a Boba milk tea shop (Tealive). Around the place there are various shops and facilities to ensure that the needs of UUM students are met without having to go outside the campus. Also, there is a beautiful lake on the side of the road which is very safe and passable for pedestrians. Overall, he had fun and had fun throughout the program.

"One of the unforgettable memories during OFAL is that on the evening of the first day, we were taken to the UUM deer farm near the UUM sports centre. We can feed them with bread and pallets by hand. It was my first experience feeding deer. Unfortunately, it started raining heavily and there was no suitable shelter for us to sit while waiting for the bus, so we all got drenched in rain before going back to proton Inasis dormitory," said Adam.

Adam also mentioned that one of the obstacles might be the unforgiving weather at that time. On the evening of the second day right before they left UUM, it was downpour again. The bus could not park near the hostel, so they all had to run under the thundering raining sky to get to the USM bus. It was almost like Kedah's sky cried as they left Sintok that evening.
